High school girls soccer in Illinois has become a hotbed for college recruiters. In what may be its strongest overall field since the girls portion started, the PepsiCo Showdown will showcase 100s of players set to play in college this fall, along with 100s of future college prospects at the same site on back-to-back Saturdays this month. Checkout the list of just some of the college-bound stars competing in the popular showcase.

Willowbrook sophomore Erinn Bell: “It was fun playing as a freshman on the varsity level last season. You get to compete against better and more experienced players, and then you realize how far you’ve come since you first started playing on varsity. I realized you have to be really aggressive and to be more proactive than reactive.” Bob Narang has the story for #PrepSoccerReport

Freeburg’s Noah Williams, who plays club soccer for St. Louis Scott Gallagher, attended the PepsiCo Showdown College Showcase for the second straight year. “Going the year before showed what I need to work on,” Williams said. “I knew I could improve a lot. It was a great opportunity to see what other guys from around the state can do and how I compare.” Steve Millar has the story for #PrepSoccerReport.
